Carers

There are around seven million carers in the UK  – that is one in ten people. This is rising.

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems.

Three in five people will be carers at some point in their lives in the UK.

Caring for someone can have a significant impact on a person’s physical, emotional and social wellbeing. Please let us know if you are somebody’s carer. You can do this by submitting an eConsult using the ‘Contact reception’ button on your practice home page (select your practice at the bottom of this page). Once we receive this, we’ll make a note and this helps us make sure we are looking after your health and wellbeing. It can help us to direct you towards the support you might need which can make all the difference.

You can also access support or advice from the Liverpool Carers Centre
